Looting

From Gloria Victis

Gloria Victis has a partial loot system, which places limitations on looting downed players. This is different from many PvP games' full loot systems where a downed player can have every single item and all his equipment stripped from his body.

The Looting System

In loot enabled areas and events, the following rules apply:

The downed player:

  • is lootable for 30 seconds from the moment of death (25 seconds if he has the Fighter buff, gained by having 2,000 Nation Points).
  • can be looted for a total of 10 points worth of gear and materials per death. (see chart below)

The looting player:

  • must be very close to the body.
  • must spend several seconds to loot one item.
  • must not be interrupted by taking damage (ranged or melee) while looting. This will reset the progress bar. They may try again, but crucial seconds will elapse
  • receives the base item, not the skin, when looting an item with a skin applied to it.

The loot:

  • Weapons, armor, and crafting materials can be looted
  • Equipped gear can be looted
  • Money cannot be looted
  • Mounts cannot be looted
  • Equipped bags cannot be looted
  • Skins cannot be looted
  • Crafting materials and other items are looted in stacks of up to 100. A stack of 2,452 coal or 12 Monastic Wine will be looted in stacks, for example.

Regardless of item tier or quality, loot costs for gear are based on their equipment slot. Meaning that the worst sword costs the same amount of loot points as the best sword.

It is a good idea to use the Depot to store valuables, and to split up stacks of materials and items so that 100 do not get looted at a time.

Non-Loot events

Non loot events and areas have an icon with a red X indicating it is non-loot.

Non-loot events:

  • Valley of Death Tournaments
  • Siege events occurring directly after the Valley of Death Tournaments. These are 25 minute non-loot events. There is a 2 minute period after the siege event ends before loot is turned back on in the area.
  • Sea Wraiths

Non-loot areas:

  • The Arena
  • Areas near the capital city including the 2 farms closest to the capital city.
  • The area immediately surrounding the non-loot siege events following the Valley of Death Tournaments.
