Reinforcing
Reinforcing is a chance based activity that allows players to improve the quality of weapons, armor, and tools. Reinforcing is done with Reinforcement Kits and does not require being at a crafting workshop. The reinforcement process is sometimes called "upgrading."
Reinforcement kits are given as daily, weekly, and monthly log in rewards. They can also be purchased at vendors for Crowns.
Reinforcing is used to improve items from +0 to +7 quality, and reinforcing is the only way to achieve +7 quality. Items cannot be crafted with +7 quality.

Determining Success
The reinforcement process takes several factors into account to determine if it will be successful, including:
- The craft level and tier of the item
- Your crafting level in the relevant skill (Reinforcing weapons is based on Weapon Forging, for example).
- Your Mentor Points
- Crafting Chance Bonuses
- The current quality of the item. High quality items are harder to reinforce.
- The type of reinforcement kit being used.
Items which are not successfully reinforced are permanently destroyed.
Newer players or non-crafters are recommended to seek out high level crafters with large mentor point pools for item reinforcement.
Which Kit to Use
Generally, a higher tier reinforcement kit gives better results, but using Master's kits for every upgrade is prohibitively expensive. A player who significantly outlevels the item being reinforced, and has a mentor point pool of at least 700 has a fairly good chance at success using this guide:

Note: +7 has a VERY, VERY LOW chance of success even when all factors are optimized, and is not recommended to attempt getting a +7 without meeting these criteria:
- A master reinforcement kit
- 1,000+ mentor points
- Max relevant crafting level
Even when these criteria are met, it is likely there will be multiple failures. Usually people wishing to upgrade to +7 make a dozen or so attempts before they get a success. Remember that failure permanently destroys the item.
Reinforcing to Repair Lost Durability
It is possible to fully repair an item's durability under 2 circumstances: That item has never been repaired at an NPC vendor before AND the item is at least half durability.
Reinforcing to Repair is commonly done, as it is a way to significantly extend the life of an item. Taking an item from +0 to +1, wearing it down to half, taking it from +1 to +2, and continuing that pattern without repairing it can basically give you a brand new item each time you reinforce it. For players wishing to do this, it is important to never select "repair all" at a vendor, or you may end up repairing an item you wanted to reinforce.
