The word "Bastion" refers to the main building of a location, also known as the "keep." For the Bastion System, click here.

Tbe bastion contains the location's flag, defensive structures including boiling oil and ballistas, a respawn point, a depot, and an architect's table, which allows players to access the upgrade system and the bastion system.

Minor locations such as farms, mines, and lumbermills have bastions which cannot exceed level 3 upgrades. Major locations bastions can go up to level 6, strong stone keeps.

Bastions are the last line of defense in a siege. The ballistas on a stone bastion are high enough that it is extremely unlikely that they will be hit with catapult fire. On the second floor of the bastion is a powerful boiling oil that does an AoE DoT to anyone it hits. This oil respawns every 60 seconds.

Bastions do not take damage from melee weapons and can only be damaged with catapults and rams.
