How to Craft
You can craft in your hands by just opening the crafting panel. The default button is [C]. But this way is not recommended. It's better to use a dedicated workshop, and each crafting branch has its own dedicated workshop to craft in. It's better because you will get more crafting experience, and the chance of receiving more materials is higher. Same for item quality. Workshops are in each major location, and the best ones are in the loot zone castle.
Disassembly
Disassembly is part of the Character Development system and allows players to dismantle weapons and armour. Disassembling items yields materials, experience, and a chance to learn the recipe of the item.
Workshop's quality
The workshop's quality is determined by its current upgrade level and the location’s efficiency level. Both of these can be improved at the Architect's Table inside the bastion building. Low bastion efficiency will cause the workshop to temporarily downgrade until it is improved.
Any player may upgrade a crafting workshop or fill the bastion to improve the quality of the crafting workshops.
Workstations
There are players' workstations that process raw materials into half-products.
- Campfire - Cook simple foods and basic smelting
- Bloomery - For simple smelting
- Furnace - Intermediate smelting
- Metallurgical Furnace - Advanced smelting
- Carpentry Table - For making finished wood
- Brewery - For brewing alcohol
Dedicated quests and events
There are quests and events for crafters. Their goal is to craft a certain item or bring a certain amount of resources to claim a reward.
Each capital has a separate quest board for each crafting branch, where you can start a crafting quest. To complete these quests, you will be asked to craft and bring a low tier items.
Crafting events are a special event which require players to deliver certain low and mid-tier crafted items. These events reward some of the most valuable materials in the game.
Fishing Stock is an event at the same location as the Inn Questlines in which players must bring certain quantities and varieties of fish to turn in for a reward.
Item Quality
Armours, weapons, and tools have quality modifiers which improve their stats slightly with each increase in quality level. Item quality ranges from +0 to +7. Players cannot choose which quality they will make when crafting, rather, the result will be determined by the following factors:
Reinforcing
Reinforcing is used to improve items from +0 to +7 quality, and reinforcing is the only way to achieve +7 quality. Items cannot be crafted with +7 quality.
Renovation Kit
Renovation Kits give you the opportunity to restore the durability of an item. It is possible to repair an item to its full base durability with renovations. Renovations are an expensive way to repair equipment, and are usually best reserved for gear that is very high tier and high quality.
Item durability
Durability is the overall sturdiness of an item. Loss in durability reflects the wear and tear on armor, weapons, tools, and mounts. Higher tier items have higher starting maximum durability. Items lose durability each time they are used.
