Builds

From Gloria Victis

This page is intended as a helpful resource to players looking for help designing a build. This page is not an exhaustive list of all builds possible, nor does it attempt to follow any "meta." This page presents solid builds that perform their role well in open world group combat. These builds were created with www.gloriavictisgame.info/builder . There are thousands of attribute and skill point distribution options and ways to specialize, so experiment!

Each build listed below has a "weapons" section, but remember that weapons are SITUATIONAL, and any character can use any weapon at any time. Don't limit yourself to only carrying the weapons listed. The weapons listed are simply the most used and benefit directly from the build attributes or skills.

Each build has some recommended consumables. These are simply recommendations. Keeping beer, mead, wine, and bandages handy can help with healing and regeneration for every build.

Siege Archer

Example char
  • Role: Ranged DPS
  • Description: This type of archer does best on the walls, gatehouses and towers of castles raining down damage. But, no one can always be on defense! On the ground, the archer is still powerful, but must be wary because he is a very squishy target who can be cut down in a few sword slashes. Carrying a light shield and having good combat awareness and a willingness to engage in melee when needed keeps archers alive. Managing arrow regeneration is crucial for archers, and during downtime, he will need to find ways to contribute to the fight.
  • Armor: 6 light
  • Weapons: Reflex Bow, Longbow, dagger, 1h sword, 2h sword, light shield
  • Favorite Consumables: Mineral Brew, Brawn Honey, Cuckoo, Erendi's Elixir

Breaker

Breakerbuild.jpg
  • Role: Melee DPS, Shield Breaking, anti shieldman, anti cavalry
  • Description: Breakers are anti-shield and anti-cavalry infantry. They excel on offense at the front of the fight and can put out excellent damage with axes and spears. They have just enough defensive ability to give them some survivability and can rely on their own shields when needed.
  • Armor: 4 medium/2 heavy, 6 medium
  • Weapons: 2h axes
  • Favorite Consumables: Protectant Tincture

Bruiser

Bruiser.jpg
  • Role: Sturdy Melee DPS
  • Description: This is a high damage build with good survivability in the hands of a skilled player. Deadly with almost any weapon and good HP and stam pools, a bruiser can take damage and dish it out. Bruisers are usually weakest to piercing damage due to wearing mostly medium armor, so they need to avoid spears and arrows. Using 2 handed weapons for both defense and offense, they are not weighed down by shields, but they must rely on their skill to directional block.
  • Armor: 4 medium/2 heavy (usually chest and head). Wearing too much heavy will reduce damage too much for the high DPS potential of this build.
  • Weapons: 2 handed cleaving weapons such as swords, halberds, and axes. Shields are pulled usually in a last ditch effort to "turtle up" until assistance arrives.
  • Favorite Consumables: Protectant Tincture, Erendi's Elixir, Rue Brew, Flaxseed Jam

Shieldman

Tankbuild.jpg
  • Role: Melee tank, damage soak, door plugger, distraction, limited crowd control
  • Description: It's the shieldman's job to HOLD! HOLD! the line. Whether it's a gatehouse, a doorway, or a line in the sand, nothing gets past him. A single shieldman can occupy 2, 3 or 4 melee fighters all trying to bang down his shield. The shieldman lives and dies (a lot) on the front lines. His job isn't as flashy as the damage dealing bruiser, or as satisfying and safe as the archer's. The shieldman is in the mud in the muck, taking hits from all sides fighting for every inch of territory. Managing the depletion of the shield's resistance is important, and they will need to rotate out of the front line of fight to allow another shieldman to replace him. Using kicks and shield bashes to stun and stagger the enemy creates opportunities for others to get hits in.
  • Armor: 6 heavy, heavy shield.
  • Primary weapons: 1h axe, 1h mace, 1h spear with a heavy shield.
  • Favorite Consumables: Endurance Decoction, Wisent, Protectant Tincture, Anaesthetic tincture, Brawn Honey, Cuckoo, Erendi's Elixir

Medic

Medicbuild.jpg
  • Role: Revives, healing, 2nd line heavy fighter
  • Description: No line of shieldmen could withstand the enemy's assault without the medic standing behind them providing revives and bandaging them up. The medic makes sure the line holds. The medic must keep careful watch on the health of the party and try to get in a spear jab from the second line every now and then. Medics are pretty heavily armored because they are down there in the melee with the shieldmen and the bruisers. They must have excellent battlefield awareness to find their comrades and not get caught by the enemy. Their skills are all defensive and healing based. When a medic successfully revives a player, the whole party receives a short HP regen buff.
  • Armor: 6 heavy and a heavy shield
  • Weapons: 2 handed spear, guisarme, 2 handed halberd, 1h axe or mace. Heavy shield.
  • Favorite Consumables: Bandages, Protectant Tincture, Brawn Honey, Cuckoo, Erendi's Elixir

Light Skirmisher

Skirmisher.jpg
  • Role: Melee DPS
  • Description: Wearing a more risky set of light armor for absolute top damage, the Skirmisher is a glass cannon build not for the faint of heart. They are highly mobile, and their abilities are offensively oriented. They rely on getting the kill before getting killed. This is a build that is best kept moving. Rather than squaring up for a 1v1 in a battle like some epic movie scene, the skirmisher is more of a dirty hit and run kind of build that excels at damaging targets who are otherwise occupied or not paying attention to him. See a 1v1 going on in the middle of the fight? The skirmisher will simply run up and backstab the enemy No honor, all damage. These skirmishers also make excellent archers, as their abilities overlap significantly.
  • Armor: 6 light, or 4 light/2 medium
  • Weapons: Pretty much anything. Wearing a light shield can save him in a bind, but not wearing one increases his damage just a little more.
  • Favorite Consumables: Marauder's Bread, Mineral Brew, Erendi's Elixir, Mistletoe Decoction, Vitality Tincture

Melee Cavalry

Meleecavalry.jpg
  • Role: Mobile melee DPS, flanking, chasing, scouting
  • Description: This melee cavalry build is about hitting unsuspecting foes and running off and coming back for another pass. It can also be used for flanking around behind enemy lines, catching reinforcements or fleeing enemies, and destroying tents and siege equipment. This is a mobile, single target type of build made for the edges of the battlefield or quick passes through the battlefield. The melee cavalryman must not get mired down in difficult terrain or slowed by spears or he will quickly find himself horseless and surrounded.
  • Armor: Light and medium
  • Weapons: 2 handed weapons
  • Favorite Consumables: Brawn Honey, Cuckoo, Erendi's Elixir, Fatigue Brew, Marauder's Bread, Mineral Brew, Mistletoe Decoction

Ranged Cavalry

Rangedcavalry.jpg
  • Role: Ranged mounted DPS, scouting, chasing, flanking
  • Description: The cavalry archer has an elevated mobile perch to shoot arrows from and makes an excellent scout and flanker. Not designed to run into melee combat, this cavalryman must be careful to avoid enemy spearmen or getting caught in difficult terrain. When properly positioned, ranged cavalry can put out a lot of damage and significantly distract an enemy force.
  • Armor: 6 light
  • Weapons: Bow, light shield, 1 handed sword and dagger, 2h spear/halberd.
  • Favorite Consumables: Brawn Honey, Erendi's Elixir, Fatigue Brew, Marauder's Bread, Mineral Brew
