Sieges are organized warfare that occurs at nation controlled locations and guild provinces, often requiring the use of large parties and siege equipment. Sieges at nation controlled locations can be started any time, with some limitations such as Nightlock.

Players wishing to use siege equipment will need to generate siege points in order to spawn siege equipment from either the Siege Camp, Siege Tent, or the Siege Engineer.

For information about sieges at guild provinces see: State of War.

Map Indicators

On the world map, a flag on fire indicates a siege is occurring. All individuals in the game can see the same information, regardless of distance or nation.

Flags have 2 graphics that indicate the seriousness of a siege:

  • Flag highlighted + on fire= multiple enemies nearby OR at least 1 enemy with siege equipment.
  • Flag on fire= 1-3 enemies nearby without siege equipment.

Often a siege will begin with the flag on fire and then "escalates" to the flag highlighted + on fire.

When leading a party to begin a siege, leaders will often avoid "lighting" a flag for as long as possible to use the element of surprise to their advantage.

When a location flag on the front line is under siege, it cannot be fast traveled to. Flags not on the front line that are under siege can be fast traveled to.

Siege Camps

Outside of every nation controlled location on the Link System there are 2 siege camps, one on either side of the location. This is where offensive siege equipment is spawned using siege points. Siege camps have a defensive mechanism called the Emperor's Flame which is a devastating Area of Effect weapon designed to help defend the siege camp.

Some siege equipment including the Warwolf and Arrow Barrels may only be placed nearby the siege camp and are immobile.

Siege Points

Siege points are automatically generated by attackers and by defenders as long as they are in the area being sieged. This allows each side to spawn certain pieces of siege equipment. Siege points are "spent" at the siege camp, siege tent, or siege engineer.

Each piece of siege equipment has a cost in siege points. Siege points are automatically generated at a rate of 50 per minute for each player by being in the area. It is a good idea to ask the rest of the party what is needed before making a choice.

Each player may spawn 1 piece of siege equipment. If they spawn another, the first will disappear.

Although siege points are generated individually, the total amount of siege equipment allowed to be spawned in is limited, and more siege becomes available over time, so be sure to coordinate with your party. This prevents 20 players from spawning 20 catapults at the same time, for example. Visit the siege engineer or siege tent to see when the next available siege can be spawned.
