Gloria Victis has a partial loot system, which places limitations on looting downed players. Gloria Victis has a variety of loot enabled and loot disabled events and areas to fit many playstyles.

The Looting System

In loot enabled areas and events, the following rules apply:

The downed player:

  • can be looted for a total of 10 points worth of gear and materials per death. (see chart below)
  • is lootable for 30 seconds from the moment of death.
    • The following buffs reduce the loot timer/respawn time by 5 seconds each. They can all be active at the same time and reduce overall loot time by 15 seconds, making the player lootable for 15 seconds.
      • Fighter Buff: Gained by having 1,000 Unsecured Nation Points on that character.
      • Lord Rank: Gained by having 10,000 reputation.
      • Medical Assist: Gained by being part of an underdog nation in its homeland territory. This buff's icon only shows up on the Status Tray AFTER their first PvP death in the area, but it is active before that.

The looting player:

  • must be very close to the body.
  • must look at the downed player's blood stain to access loot.
  • must spend several seconds to loot one item.
  • must not be interrupted by taking damage (ranged or melee) while looting. This will reset the progress bar. They may try again, but crucial seconds will elapse.
  • receives the base item, not the skin, when looting an item with a skin applied to it.

The loot:

  • Weapons, armor, and crafting materials can be looted.
  • Recipes can be looted.
  • Consumables like food and potions can be looted.
  • Equipped gear can be looted.
  • Mounts cannot be looted.
  • Crafting materials and other items are looted in stacks of up to 100. A stack of 2,452 coal or 125 Monastic Wine will be looted in stacks of 100, for example.
  • Equipped bags can be looted if empty.
  • Money cannot be looted.
  • Contribution and Glory Points cannot be looted.
  • Skins cannot be looted.
  • Players setting Player Stalls in lootable areas who are killed can be looted as normal. The stall will disappear after the first damage is taken.
  • Note: Items that cannot be looted will show up with a 999 Loot timer. These include items such as Attribute Resets from the Supporter shop.

The most a player can ever loot is 1 piece of equipment (6 points minimum) plus stacks of up to 100 materials (2 points per stack) for a total of 10 points.

Loot Costs
Chest
piece
8
Pants 8
Weapon 8
Shield 8
Helm 6
Shoulders 6
Gloves 6
Boots 6
100 Materials 2

NOTE: The loot Cost is also the same amount of time it takes to loot the item. So a Chest piece costs 8 loot points, it will also take 8 seconds to loot.

Regardless of item tier or quality, loot costs for gear are based on their equipment slot. Meaning that the worst sword costs the same amount of loot points as the best sword.

TIPS:

  • Use the Depot to store valuables
  • Split up stacks of materials and items into small stacks so that 100 do not get looted at a time.
  • Keeping a messy inventory can bog down looters searching for gear.
  • You can only be looted for 1 piece of gear, per death, so there is no reason to stuff all your gear in the depot.
  • Have some Bait gear in your bags. An Orange +6 will cause someone to look, but if it's a low durability, almost broken item they will have wasted some time looking at it and possibly looting it.
  • If your ally is downed and being looted, do your best to interrupt their loot. They will be thankful, as you would if it were happening to you.
  • If you ally is looting a body, do your best to provide them some cover so they can get the loot without interruption.

Loot Priority

Any player who does 70% or more of the total damage to a player receives a 3 second loot priority on the victim. This is to prevent opportunists from simply taking the loot someone else "earned." After 3 seconds, anyone may loot the body as normal.

Non-Loot events

Nolooticon.jpgThe non-loot indicator will pop up in your Status Tray when you are in a non-loot area.

Non-loot events:

  • Valley of Death Tournaments
  • Sea Wraiths

Non-loot areas:

  • The Arena
  • The whole outer map ring

Workstations

Player created workstations including the Campfire, Carpentry Table, Bloomery, Furnace and Metallurgic Furnace can NOT be looted. They can be destroyed. If destroyed, the materials inside them will move to your Offers tab in The Market. No items will be lost.
