An armor set is a set of 6 pieces of gear of a specific quality level that follows a naming convention and has standardized values with other armor sets of the same quality level.
Not all armor belongs to a set. Players do not need to equip armor from one set to get the Armor Set Bonus, because that bonus is based on the number of pieces of the same type, not the same set.
