To disassemble something, right click it and select "disassemble" or hold alt+left click. There will be text indicating if it's possible to learn the recipe or not. If, upon disassembly, you get a message that says "Critical Success" it means you have learned the recipe. Disassembly is part of the Character Development system and allows players to dismantle weapons and armor. Disassembling items yields materials, Experience, and a chance to learn the recipe of the item.
